Daisy Rebecca Ellington (Golden Retriever-ish girl age 13+years old) passed away on June 22, 2026 after dealing with several health-related issues, including back problems, doggie dementia, and balance instability. Daisy was born on the Pine Ridge Reservation in 2012. She was fostered by the Oglala Pet Project (OPP) rescue organization until we adopted her. Daisy’s name was originally Cody. Her fur was so matted that OPP thought she was a boy. After she was shaved to get rid of the mats, they discovered she was a girl! So, her OPP name was changed to Miss Cody.

Daisy was a loving and gentle girl who loved walks, treats, and her doggie bed. She is survived by her pet parents (Chuck and Carolyn) and her fur-brother Moose Eddie Ellington. Memorial donations for Daisy may be sent to the Humane Society of the Black Hills www.hsbh.org
