Obituary For DITCH BIG GROWLY BEAST Granneman

I could start with what a wonderful dog Ditch was…. But anyone that knew him… well, they would laugh at that. Ditch was a 100 lbs of a growly, biting, big beast of a dog. He was the best hiking partner and the finder of deer legs on every hike. Anyone that pulled up in the yard could not get out of the car without his permission or a toll cookie (the UPS guy started that so he could leave stuff🤣) he tolerated my barn cats, and on a down stay at the store… I could shop in peace because he would not let anyone down the isle. His favorite toy was a stuffed bee the size of a quarter… which he carried around in his mouth and squeaked it about 1000 times a day. He finally wore it out. He loved to wade in the water and it was always 5 more minutes before he would come out. He traveled more than most humans and had a long list of national parks on his collar. He can’t read-so the no dogs sign never bothered him. We went anyway. Asking for forgiveness is better than permission any day. He saved me from harm multiple times and only bit when necessary.
I could write a book on Ditch. He has a phenomenal origin story of how we met and how we became friends… the best of friends… for 15 years he was my friend and adventure partner. (The worst day 9/4/26). Even though it ripped a hole inside of me… that will never truly heal… I would not change a thing! Well, if he could live forever… that would be cool !!

Thank you Resting Pawz and Dr. Paul for being so amazing and showing true compassion to a girl and her dog… even though Dave was ALMOST his last bite victim. Hahaha! I still wish that was on video!

R.I.P DITCH - you were the best beast !!
