In Loving Memory of Duchess 🐾❤️October 21, 2026

We adopted Duchess on February 14, 2020. Looking back, I truly believe she found us when we needed her, even though we didn’t know we needed her at the time. She quickly became so much more than a cat she became family.

Duchess was a happy girl with a personality all her own. We always said she had “white eyeliner on all the time,”and honestly, she wore it well. She had a way of making herself known and a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Every animal that came to visit was immediately her friend. Duchess would rub up against them as if to say,“Where have you been? You’re my long-lost friend!”❤️

She loved being outside. She would sit at the door, ready to pounce the second she got the chance. And when that door finally opened, off she would go zooming around and frolicking like she had places to be only to zip right back inside because, despite her love for the outdoors, Duchess absolutely hated the cold.

That was our girl. Happy, funny, loving, independent, and completely herself.

It never gets easier saying goodbye to our fur babies. No matter how many times we experience it, the heartbreak is still just as real. They become part of our family, part of our everyday lives, and when they leave, they take a little piece of our hearts with them.

Duchess, you were loved more than you could ever have known. Thank you for finding us. Thank you for the years of companionship, the laughs, the zoomies, the friendships, and all the little moments that we will remember forever.

Today, we say goodbye with broken hearts, but we hope wherever you are, there is no more pain. No more cold. No more limits. Eat to your heart’s content. Run. Play. Frolic. Be free.

And when you find all the other fur babies waiting for you, go rub up against them and let them know they are your long-lost friends. ❤️
