Obituary For Jager Berzina

With sad hearts, we share the passing of Jager, just a few months shy of his 12th birthday. He was truly an amazing dog who’s strength, spirit, and love left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Jager was an exceptional hunting dog, a true hard charger who approached life with determination and grit. There was never a challenge he wouldn’t take on, and no terrain he wouldn’t cover. But beyond his drive and toughness, Jager was even more special—an incredible family dog. He was a gentle soul, a loyal companion, and the biggest teddy bear you could ever hope to know.

At ages 4½ and then at 6, Jager had to have his eyes removed, but he never lost a beat. We treated him like a normal dog & he continued to hunt, hike, swim, fetch, and live life fully—proving every day that his spirit was stronger than any obstacle. Even as his hips grew weaker, he kept running, never slowing down, and showing what resilience truly looks like.

Jager was sweet, patient, smart, and endlessly loyal. He gave his whole heart to his family. He was deeply loved by our family and friends. We will miss him like crazy but cherish all the fun memories we made together. 💙RIP💙
