Obituary For Poppy Silver

Poppy was rescued on July 3, 2017, along with many other small breed pups dumped out on Ft Meade. She was found to be pregnant and only about 1.5 years old. Sturgis/Meade County Shetler was called to action after a dear friend discovered them. I started a FB page in honor of our Poppy and the other little survivors, “Fort Meade/BLM Rescue Dogs”

Poppy found her forever home mid July 2017 with her parents Karlene and Rob. She arrived scared of everything and everyone. Grass, leaves, doorways, stairs, all the normal sounds of a home overwhelmed her. Having a big brother Aussie, Chile the cool dude, helped put her at ease and transform her to a more normal pup. She was always a good girl and the smartest girl we have ever had. She immediately walked well on a lease. She loved car rides, going to work at Indian Motorcycle and made many friends there. She just wanted to be with us.
We are both heartbroken and privileged to share just 7 short years with the most precious, innocent, sweet, smart and joyful little soul. It was too soon Poppy and you have left a huge hole in our hearts. We will forever be blessed with your memory. I just wish I could still hold your tiny body and kiss your sweet little face…you were one of a kind in every way. We love you deeply🐾❤️💔
