Obituary For Rozie Stottler

Rozie, a conure with the biggest heart, was always eager to meet people, embracing everyone as part of her flock. In 2020, she was dropped off for boarding and never picked up. She became a beacon of light in my life during dark times, and I couldn’t resist adopting her.

Rozie had a special love for people, delighting them with her head bopping, loud animated kissing noises, and sweet words like “love you” and “be good.” She would roll on her back, kick her legs, and pretend to be tickled by the "big scary human hand" with playful glee. Her affection for people led her to her first bird show at Jolly Lane Greenhouse, and she quickly became an ambassador for birds. Over the years many held a bird for the first time because of her, and Rozie showed them how intelligent, socially complex, and loving birds can be.

Rozie shared many adventures, including camping trips and backpacking through multiple states. She even taught her sister, Iris, the alarm call, and together they bonded over dinner treats like noodles, raspberries and popcorn. Together they would scream at the mailman especially when he struggled up the hill in the snow. Despite health struggles, Rozie managed with a careful diet and lots of cuddles.

Unfortunately, her health took a sudden turn, and despite our best efforts with two vets, she passed away. Rozie touched countless lives and leaves a massive void in our family. We hope the saying "Until we meet again" is true because there was never enough time with you, RoeRoe. We love you. 8/17/24.
